How much does an ecommerce website cost in South Africa?
A professional ecommerce website costs R8,000-R30,000 from South African freelancers and considerably more from agencies. STRKR's E-Commerce type is R20,000 fixed: up to 30 products loaded, Payfast or Yoco payments, shipping configured and order emails - live in 3-4 weeks.
Payfast or Yoco - which is better for my store?
Both take SA cards reliably. Payfast suits stores wanting EFT and a wide method mix; Yoco suits businesses already using Yoco card machines, keeping in-person and online sales in one place. The build includes either, configured and tested with a real transaction.
What about Shopify - should I use that instead?
Shopify is excellent but rents you the store: from ~R700/month forever, plus transaction fees. A R20,000 once-off build with a R1,500/month Commerce Care Plan usually costs less by year two and you own everything. If Shopify genuinely fits better, Matt will say so.
Can I add more than 30 products?
Yes - the build includes 30 products loaded for you, and extra loading is a fixed add-on (R500 per 10 products). You can also add unlimited products yourself; the handover video shows you how on your actual store.
